FloCheck Passive Inflow Control Completions

Tendeka's passive inflow control completions promote uniform production or injection along the entire length of a horizontal well.

FloCheck™ passive inflow control completions combine passive ICDs with the Tendeka range of mechanical or swellable packers to provide an inflow profile to meet client requirements. Our FloMatik™ ICDs even out the inflow profile, delivering better coning control and delayed water or gas breakthrough. Acid stimulation during the production or injection life of the well can also be regulated in this way.

Our passive inflow control completions feature regularly spaced FloMatik ICDs throughout the completion liner adjacent to the production reservoir. These can either be run on every joint, or combined with blank joints to provide the desired well compartmentalization.

Inflow Control

Long horizontal wells can increase productivity and recovery of oil by increasing reservoir contact, however, uneven production due to reservoir heterogeneity, fractures or frictional pressure losses along the length of the horizontal bore can lead to early water or gas breakthrough in these wells.  

Inflow Control Devices (ICDs) create a more even inflow by producing an additional pressure drop at inflow points along the reservoir.  Similarly, ICD are used in water injection applications to promote an even outflow of water to improve sweep efficiency.

Deployed as part of the lower completion using zone isolation packers to divide the reservoir into inflow compartment, the ICD can be integrated with sand control screens for soft formations, or within short subs for harder formations.

Tendeka has advanced ICD technology to increase the functionality of these devices to allow circulation during deployment, prevent cross flow and autonomously choke back unwanted water and gas production once break-through occurs.
